Nasir Moloo Obituary

Nasir Moloo MD
11/9/1962 - 10/28/2014

Dr. Nasir Moloo, 51, of Granite Bay, Calif., passed away October 28, 2014 surrounded by family including his wife of 22 years, Jeannie Gazzaniga, three young children, Sarah, David and Alexander, parents Sakar Haji and Amir Moloo, sister Nasreen, brother Jamal and sister-in-law Janice.
He will live in each of us forever - his calm, gentle self and infectious smile that we all adored. He was a wise, kind and gentle father to his three "Sugar Plums" who brought him much happiness, peace, love and guidance.
Dr. Moloo was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, November 9, 1962 and went on to become a respected gastroenterologist. He was a founding partner in Capitol Gastroenterology Consultants Medical Group, practicing at Sutter Roseville for 16 years, where he held the distinction of Chairman of Internal Medicine, until lymphoma and a stem cell transplant curbed his ability to practice in 2008.
Dr. Moloo never stopped being a physician even when he was a patient, spending more than 1,000 consecutive days receiving IV therapy at the Sutter Roseville infusion center helping many people cope with their illness while he was struggling with his own. He was an inspiration in the way he lived with the chaos of cancer. Most of all his compassion and intelligence distinguished him as a physician to this day former patients express their appreciation and love for his care.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to be held on Sunday, November 9, at 1:00 pm at St. Alban's Country Day School, 2312 Vernon St., Roseville. In honor of Nasir's life, and his children, please smile at a stranger, show patience, ask if you can help another who may be struggling. Don't worry about saying the wrong thing or feeling awkward. Just do it with the love Dr. Moloo had in his heart and the world will be a better place.
In his honor, contributions may be made to The Nasir Moloo, MD, Benefit Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 973, Roseville, CA 95678, for his children's college education.

I was one of his patients before he became ill. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a compassionate person and physician . I will always remember how much he cared about his patients as people first and not as a disease. May God keep close to your family during this difficult time .

We will greatly miss Nasir. We always enjoyed running into him on the slopes at Tahoe Donner - he was always so happy when skiing with his family. Debbie enjoyed working with him and all of her patients in Roseville and then the V.A. thought he was the best.

I am so saddened to hear of Nasir's passing. My patients still ask about him and are grateful for the compassionate care he gave them. I ran into him about 6 months ago and he was in good spirits and it was so nice to see him. He was so proud of his family and will be missed greatly by the Roseville Medical Community.
