Peter Filice, Jr. Obituary
Born September 4, 1925, Peter entered into eternal life on November 22, 2011.
Preceded in death by his wife Jane, he is survived by his children Joe, Charlie, Michele, Monteana, Annette and Peter, along with 12 grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Auburn, followed by a Graveside Service at 2:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens, 2011 Arnold Industrial Way, Concord.
Peter served as an Army cryptographer in World War II. He studied chemistry at Santa Clara University, and then spent many years in radio and television engineering before starting Red Line Synthetic Oil Company. After retiring from Red Line, Peter ran a small video studio out of his home, and was very active in Community Bible Study. He enjoyed backpacking, was a ham radio enthusiast, and loved to tinker in his workshop. Peter and Jane spent most of their married life in Lafayette, Calif., but relocated to Auburn in 2006 to be closer to their children.
The family extends special, heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Oakwood Village in Auburn and Bristol Hospice.
Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.

Pete was a good friend, and I enjoyed my time with him. I drove him to Mass every week. To the end, he was a man of passion and wisdom. Annette and family, thank you for the privilege of the time I spent with your wonderful father.
