Sande Bernadou Obituary

Passed away March 21, 2011 in Southern California after a brief illness. Sande was born January 6, 1957 in San Jose, Calif., to Adrian Bernadou (Father) and Hilda Bernadou (Mother). She was a graduate of Placer High Class of 1975 and was Miss Auburn 1974. To those that knew her, Sande was an outgoing and vivacious soul who always loved to have a good time. She is a former actress and model, known for her stunning looks and beautiful green eyes. Sande loved to travel and left an indelible impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her mother Hilda Bernadou of Auburn, sisters Annette and Adrienne Bernadou of Auburn and sister Michelle Bernadou of Malibu. She leaves behind many nephews, nieces and loving friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on April 23, 2011 in Auburn.

My heart goes out to the Bernadou family at this very difficult time, my thoughts and prayers now and in the future are with you all.
Sande and I first met back in April 2000, I'll always remember Sande and her strong spirit and beauty that touched me deeply and all who met her.
Sande was my dear friend, companion, confidant and buddy and no matter what she would always light up a room wherever we went. Her beauty inside and out and can do attitude, love of her friends and Nikki the cat is something I will always cherish. Sande was always there for me, she always knew when I was in trouble and needed someone just to talk to. Back in 2002 Sande was with me when I reunited with my Father whom I was separated from almost 30 years ago. Sande encouraged and supported me like none other and I can never thank her enough for that support and encouragement!
I probably would not have followed through with meeting my Father had it not been for her help and comfort. Even though my Dad passed away back in 2008, Dad would always ask about Sande every single time we talked on the phone or saw each other in person. Dad always remarked at how cool Sande 'The Tall Lady' was, she was really something he would say and in his eyes I always saw a gleam whenever he spoke about her. The last time I saw my Father as I left his house he said 'Hey, you tell that tall lady W.W. says hello', I did and Sande got such a kick out of that.
Sande always amazed me with her incredible resilience, even though people would disappoint her in life, she always bounced back with her great spirit and happiness. Sande was tough as nails and always the proud lady and of me personally as well and would defend me to anyone, something that anymore is rarely seen. Sande's energy and eye for fun is also something I'll always remember, always full of surprises and eager to jump out and try something new. Sande was so much fun to be with and I'm proud beyond words to have been a part of her life.
I miss Sande my 'Lil Mouse' terribly, more then I can describe and her spirit will always be present with me, she was truly one very special lady.
My heart and love go out to the Bernadou family now and always, I see a bit of Sande in her sisters and Mom and I can hear Sande's laughter even now.
Your home now Sande take care my sweet lady, knowing that your always with me and my love is always with you. Say hi to your father for me, a man I wish I had met and I know you missed him so much these past many years. I am a much better man for having been so blessed that you and I met and that you are a part of my life, I promise sweetie I will always cherish and remember you forever.

My deepest and most hearfelt condolances and prayers to the Bernadou Family during these most difficult of times.
I met Sande in SoCal when she became my neighbor and later a friend, a friend that was so full of life and joy; Someone who enjoyed living as everyone should live enjoying the moment and enjoying life.
She would often poke fun at me for working on my old '84 bmw and tell me to get rid of it and start the barbeque instead, something that we would enjoy along with David for sometime to come.
She will always be remembered and can only imagine the loss her loved ones must feel in her untimely departure, may God bless you all and give you strength to grief in peace as you now prepare to honor and celebrate her life!

So saddened to hear of Sande's passing. She was beautiful from the inside out and had a genuinely kind love for all of us that knew her. I remember fun times in both grammer and high school and our last reunion seemed like yesterday. She was always a delight to be around. With a heavy heart for you all, I pray that God, through His tender mercies, grants you the comfort that He alone can give.

I only met Sande once, she was a close friend of a friend of mine. She left a lasting impression of being a friendly and open person. My condolences to her friends and to her family for their loss.

My heart goes out to all of the Bernadou family. I am so saddened by this news. I have so many fond memories of Sande and I in high school. I can still picture us young and having fun. She was so beautiful but so down to earth. I was so excited to see her at our 30 year reunion. We picked up where we left off. Got together the next day and stayed in contact by phone. Sande was so unique I can't even express the loss I feel. I will miss her and think of her often, I will try and figure a way to come to her service. I am currently living in Maui so it may be impossible . I'll do my best. Annette when you feel up to it I would love to talk to you. My love and prayers go out to all of you. This came as a total shock not only to me(Frank)when i recieved a phone call earlier today but to all of us Pinguelo's,we all have known the Bernadou's since we first moved into Auburn in 74 and i personally attended Placer with Sande.It's with very heavy hearts that we today say that Sande as well the entire Bernadou family will be in our hearts,thoughts and prayers......The Pinguelo's
