William McCrillis Obituary

William K. McCrillis
2/13/1915 - 2/2/2010
On February 2, 2010, William K. McCrillis passed away. He was 94 years, and 11 months.
This is on behalf of William, known to his friends as "Kelly", and to his children, of course, as "Dad".
It is a time prospective of our Father's life.
He was the first born of William and Dema McCrillis in 1915. Woodrow Wilson was President and World War I started in May of that year. At a mere 3 years of age, my father lived through the deadly Flu of 1918, which killed more people than World War I. As a young boy and teenager, dad experienced the Roaring Twenties and Prohibition. Then came the crash of 1929, and the Great Depression. As a young man he met and married the love of his life, Ruth Lamberton, (our mother). Their marriage produced 7 children, and lasted more than 70 years, until the death of our mother in 2004. In the 50's my father went to work for Lockheed, a major defense contractor, and he stayed with them for 26 years. And a little history on his Lockheed years; dad worked as a Tool and Diemaker in a department called the Skunk Works. This was a highly top secret division where my father was involved in the development of the U2 Spy Plane, and the SR71 Black Bird, the fastest plane ever built!
Father retired in the 70's, and was retired for 34 years.
Visitation and Rosary will be at the Chapel of the Hills, in Auburn on Monday 2/8 from 5pm to 7pm. Father Brennan will officiate at the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, 2/9 at 10am, at St. Teresa Catholic Avila Church, 11600 Atwood, Auburn, followed by graveside services at the New Auburn Cemetery.
