Anthony J. "Buddy" Savarese Sr.

Anthony "Buddy" J. Savarese Sr., 84, of Zephryhills, Fla. and Port Byron,   passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at the home of his son with his family by his side. Buddy was born in Port Byron, the son of Samuel and Erma Savarese on April 20, 1928. He was the owner operator of Savarese Trailer Park in Port Byron. He was involved in construction work for NY Central Railroad and ran a beef cattle farm in Florida. He drove a school bus for Port Byron for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and most of all playing cards. "He never meet a stranger." He is survived by his children, Daniel Savarese and his fiancee' Karen, of Port Byron, Anthony (Linda) Savarese Jr. of Florida, Roxanne (Dennis) Smith, of North Carolina, Jane (Joe) Cutillo, of Elbridge, Terry (Dave) Thurston, of Montezuma; a daughter-in-law, Janet Hickey; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Blanche Williams Savarese; son, Jack Savarese on March 27, 2011; daughter, Nancy Smith on March 17, 2008; a sister and brother-in-law, Erma and Gus Connell. A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron.
