Caleb DeVoe Obituary

Caleb Thomas DeVoe

May 17, 1991 - April 7, 2025

OWASCO - Caleb Thomas DeVoe, 33, of Owasco, NY passed away in an accident April 7, 2025.

Capturing Caleb's spirit in a few sentences is impossible to do. He will be remembered by all those who knew him for his larger than life presence and "care free attitude." Caleb was a skilled carpenter and everyone's go-to "tile guy." He enjoyed hunting, making bacon and maple syrup, spending time with his friends and family, and working on motorcycles in the garage with his Dad.

Caleb had a need for speed and you could hear him coming from miles away. But most of all Caleb had a generous and passionate spirit. He will be forever remembered for his colorful sense of humor and his infectious laugh. His loss will be felt by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and loving him.

Caleb was predeceased by his brother, Army PFC Patrick A. DeVoe II. He is survived by his parents, Pat and Karen DeVoe; his sister, Cassie (Nick) DeVoe; his brother, Joe (Cambria) DeVoe; his beloved nieces, Jazzibell, Holland, Izzy, Isla; and nephews, Cassey and Henk; as well as many other extended family and friends. A Celebration of Caleb's life will be held this summer. Until then, sadly, the hamlet of Owasco will be a much quieter place.

Caleb and I were just acquaintances from many years ago, but every time I hear George Thorogood´s "one shot, one burbon, one beer" he always crosses my mind. Putting it on the jukebox at the hilltop, singing right along.

We as a family remember Caleb coming to our house and playing with Barney. He always came up to see our dog. One time our dog had puppies, and he wanted to take one home with him. He always made us laugh. He will be missed. We are so sorry for your loss. We are praying for your family at this time.

I didn't know Caleb. All I had to do is look at that photo of him standing on his bike with the American flag in the background and know how full of life he was. So sorry about your loss.

We had the pleasure of knowing Caleb thru our daughter, soon after we moved to the area. We always enjoyed talking to Caleb whenever we´d see him out and about. Easy to talk to, always had a funny story to share, and the only guy I knew that would always choose the cheapest beer in the establishment when offered. Caleb certainly knew how to have a good time and will surely be missed by many. His obituary picture speaks volumes. Our sincere condolences to Karen and the rest of Caleb´s family and friends. RIP Caleb....

He was,is,and forever will be your baby. I bought a tree .No doubt it will be as tall ,strong and as full of life as he will always be remembered. Saying that makes everyone sad because he shouldn't have to remembered he should be here. Sorry sweethearts for your beautiful son's passing. He was a blessing.
