Charles A. Perrine

AUBURN < Mr. Charles A. Perrine, 78, of Schwartz Towers, Auburn, died unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, in Auburn Memorial Hospital. Mr. Perrine was born in Syracuse, the son of Linden and Edna Canfield Perrine. He was a Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Missouri and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cayuga Post 1975 in Auburn. Mr. Perrine was a printer/publisher for more than 40 years in central New York, having owned the Scotchman Shopper"s Guide in North Syracuse, and providing printing services in Auburn. During his business years, Mr. Perrine was a very active member of the Lions Club in North Syracuse and served as district governor. For a time period, while Mr. Perrine lived in Harrisburg, Pa., he served as the state secretary while a member of the Harrisburg Lions Club. Mr. Perrine was an avid golfer and was a member of the Highland Park Golf Club in Auburn. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, in 1992; and by his son, Daniel, in 1989. He is survived by his two children: James Perrine of Auburn and Kimberly Crawford Latsha of Lemoyne, Pa.; three stepchildren, Joanne Oliver and her husband, David, of Auburn, Richard Snyder and his wife, Debra, of Weedsport, and Mary Quinn and her husband, Dennis; 12 grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua Crawford of Lemoyne, Pa., Candice Crews, Justine Bowen, Zachery Thurston and Jessica Oliver, all of Auburn, Jordan Stoddard of Weedsport, Jaclyn Snyder of Auburn, Lucas Snyder and Lilly Snyder of Weedsport, and Lauren Quinn and Lindsey Quinn of Auburn; two great-grandchildren, Damian Westburgh and Jayden Bowen, both of Auburn; two brothers, Linden L. Perrine of Bradington, Fla. and Robert A. Perrine and his wife Glodine, of Fayetteville. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Farrell"s Funeral Service Inc., 84 South St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, in St. Alphonsus Church, Auburn. Interment will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery, Fleming.
