Daniel "Danny" Dello Stritto
Nov. 12, 1972 - May 3, 2022
AUBURN - On May 3, 2022 Daniel "Danny" Dello Stritto of Auburn, NY died, after a sudden, short battle with cancer.
He left this earth with his family by his side, knowing he was loved. In his 49 years Danny returned that favor, bringing smiles, love and most importantly laughter to his friends and family.
Dan was the youngest of five children born to now deceased parents, Paul and LIz Dello Stritto. As the youngest he was the joker often volunteering to follow through with some scheme the kids thought up. One time, he volunteered to let the others tie him to a chair at the end of the driveway with a sign that said "help me!" It was so exciting when a car slowed down or honked.
Danny kept the fun alive with the new generation of nieces and nephews of the family. He was the fun uncle who concocted amazing cakes for birthdays, brought fireworks, cool gifts and baked giant cookies as big as his nieces' and nephews' faces.
Dan's humor was a symptom of his creative thinking. Anyone who knew him enjoyed long conversations about movies, physics, art, music, dreams, gardening, and cooking. His family and friends benefited from his ruminations on those subjects. He brought the best charcuterie to holidays, was a talented carpenter and was quick to help fix anything for those he cared for.
He worked over the years as an event coordinator, restaurant cook, and finally creating through his true passion of home improvement.
Danny leaves behind his siblings: Nina (Michael) Spano, David Dello Stritto, Dawn (Dave) Rogers, and Jason Dello Stritto; his eight nieces and nephews will miss his antics at family gatherings.
Dan will be buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a private burial. The family intends to hold a Celebration of his Life in the near future.

I am shocked and very saddened by Dans passing. Having known him since he was a child I have recently connected with him at Home Dept. Always a smile and I hugged him the last time we met just a few weeks ago. May God hold him close.

I can only express my most sincere sympathy to the Dello Stritto family. Our family has fond memories of your family, Owasco Lake, Rockefeller Rd, and Auburn. Danny was someone who could really make you laugh. He was so funny. In reflection and remembrance of Danny's life it reminds me - we need to be more like him - to laugh more, to smile more, and to enjoy our time together more. During this time, I hope you find solace in these words. God Bless.

I am so sorry about your loss. I think of you and Paul often as I still drive thru occasionally. Mom and Dad are gone but I continued square dancing with them as many years as I could. I remarried in 1995 to a wonderful square dance caller! We had 2 more children and all at different times in their lives danced with us. Unfortunately he passed away suddenly this past January 11,2022.
I big loss to our family as I am sure it it´s to yours! I remember loving to come baby sit your 5 kids! I have 4 of my own. How hard it must be to loose a child. My thoughts are with you and your family!

As we grow longer in the tooth the obituaries bring fewer surprises but this announcement took my breath away. In recent years I didn't see Dan very often but we would bump into each other in reasonably bizarre situations and our clocks would stop as our dialogue was far more important than any other scheduled event. It was my privilege to see you grow from a child into a wonderful human being. The world will not be a better place in your absence that is for certain. Always, Keith
