David Wellauer Obituary
AUBURN | David Wellauer, 86, of Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center, Auburn, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.
Mr. Wellauer was born on Nov. 2, 1926, in the town of Owasco, to the late Walter and Mary Bregi Wellauer Sr. David was a proud farmer; he worked on Collard Farms in West Niles.
He is survived by his sister, Hulda Morgan, of Auburn; brothers, Walter Wellauer Jr., of Sennett, and Herman Wellauer, of Auburn, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Henry Wellauer.
A calling hour will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday with a service to follow at 3 p.m. at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Interment will immediately follow in Owasco Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David Wellauer may be made to Owasco Fire Department Station # 2, 4881 Twelve Corners Road, Auburn NY 13021. The family wishes to send a special "thank you" to the staff on the third floor of Mercy Rehab and to a special friend of David's, his nurse aide, Joanie.
