Ed Canavan Obituary

WATERLOO - Ed "Bud" Canavan, 78, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2004, at the Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Waterloo.

Ed was born on April 12, 1925, in Moravia, the son of the late Edgar and Bessie Reagen-Canavan. Before his retirement on Feb. 28, 1991, Ed worked as a lock attendant in Seneca Falls. He was a life member of the Owasco Fire Department, during which time he served as chief for several years.

Ed is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara J. (Hooper) Canavan of Waterloo; two step daughters, Toni (Bill) Young of Waterloo and Chris Andrews of N. C.; a step son, Jeff (Paula) DelVecchio of Seneca Falls; five step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; a sister Adelaide "Addie" Farrell of N. C.; a brother-in-law, Frank "Butch" (Sherry) Hooper of Waterloo; his mother-in-law, Clara Hooper of Waterloo; a niece, Carolyn (Jack) Erving of N. C.; two great-nieces and a great-nephew. His brother-in-law, Tom Farrell predeceased Ed.

In honoring Ed's wishes there will be no prior calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 200 Douglas Drive, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mull Funeral Home, Inc., 113 Virginia St., Waterloo.
