AUBURN - Edward V. Walsh, 87, formerly of Fourth Avenue, Auburn, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in Columbia, Mo., where he had been a resident for the past six years.
Mr. Walsh was born in Syracuse on July 3, 1916. He was the son of Joseph and Mary Shipley Walsh.
Mr. Walsh was a disabled veteran, having proudly served in the Army during World War II. He was employed by Auburn Plastics as a machinist until his retirement. Mr. Walsh was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars.
He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted family; his wife of 58 years, Gertrude Yahn Walsh of Columbia, Mo.; his children, Diane Mechowski and her husband Richard of Auburn, Ron Walsh and his wife Jane of Skaneateles, Kathleen Dorsey and her husband John, and Anne Walsh, both of Columbia, Mo.; his grandchildren, Jason Dorsey, Alex Walsh and Julianna Mechowski; and his sister Margaret Carey of Auburn.
Mr. Walsh was predeceased by his three brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church. Friends may visit with his family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the White Chapel Funeral Home, Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Edward Walsh may send them to the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Post 1975, 60 E. Genesee St., Auburn.
