AUBURN | Gilda E. Palumbo Rossi, 99, the widow of the late Eugene D. Rossi, of the Boyle Center, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 in The Commons on St. Anthony. A native of Auburn, Gilda was a communicant of St. Francis Church. Until her retirement, she had been employed as a sales woman in the clothing industry in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She is survived by two sons, Frederick and his wife, Karen, of North Carolina, and David and his wife, Farnoosh-Moshiri, of Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Michelle Jones. In addition to her husband, Eugene, she was predeceased by her parents, Vincenzo and Emilia Avico Palumbo; two brothers, Robert and Rudolph, and two sisters, Elisa and Iola.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial to be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Private calling hours will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Road, Auburn.
