Helen Comerinsky

AUBURN | Helen Comerinsky, 91, formerly of Van Patten Street and The Home, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at the Baptist Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Scotia, N.Y.

A native of Auburn, the daughter of John and Eva Petruska Chalanick and a graduate of local schools, Helen was a retired Singer Manufacturing supervisor. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Auburn. Her husband, Victor, whom she married on June 28, 1941, passed away Sept. 23, 1996.

Surviving are their children, Victor D. Comerinsky and Susan, Plymouth, Mich., Colleen Smith and Wayne, Auburn, Donna M. Moretti and Tony, Schenectady; grandchildren, Jeffrey T. Moretti and Kari A. Moretti, Schenectady, August Smith, Auburn, Wayne Smith, Riorico, Ariz., Gerald Smith and Patrick Smith, Auburn; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Sophia Forward, Auburn; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and brothers, William and Frank (C)Halanick; and sisters, Mary LaDouce, Anne Bachta, Julia Slywka and Irene Mercado.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 132 Washington St., Auburn, with the Rev. Robert Batcho, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St. Auburn.
