James Partridge Obituary

James F. Partridge

July 31, 1945 - January 14, 2025

AUBURN - James F. Partridge, 79 of Schwartz Towers, Auburn, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Auburn Community Hosptial. A native of Binghamton, N.Y., James was born July 31, 1945, the son of the late Kenneth and Mildred Davis Partridge, and moved to Auburn with his wife, Carolann, to be closer to family. He was a Veteran, having served proudly with the United States Navy and was employed for many years as a Salesman for the Reuben H. Donnelly Company. Jim and Carol met at a record hop and enjoyed dancing to the music of the 50's and 60's for many years after, even winning some contests. Jim was always active, either playing golf, bowling or bocce. Above all, he cherished spending time with family and was so proud of the family he and Carol created. He loved being in Port St. Lucy, Florida, Emerald Isle, North Carolina or anywhere on the ocean or a lake. Jim took pride in his service in the Navy and loved reminiscing about his experiences during that time. He enjoyed people and could easily strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

In addition to Carolann DiStefano Partridge, his wife of over 58 years, James is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. Donalds (Robert Hoag) and Cynthia A. Kohberger (Frederick William); five granddaughters, Grace Knapp (Callahan), Sophia Donalds, Sarah Kohberger, Valerie Kohberger, Kelly Kohberger; brothers-in-law, Bill Beaudin, Don Van Harken, Vincent (Linda) DiStefano; several cousins; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Mildred Davis Partridge; three sisters, Alice Beaudin, Ruth Van Harken, Sandra (Cliff) Smith; in laws, Peter (Caroline) DiStefano; sister-in-law, Mary Rose Cross; and his many beloved pets.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Memorial Mass to be offered Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church. Visitation will be held prior to mass at 10 a.m. Arrangements are with the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., Auburn.

Contributions may be made in memory of Jim to the Multiple Sclerosis Resources of CNY, PO Box 237, E. Syracuse, N.Y. 13057.

My deepest condolences to Carol and the entire family. So sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. We became fast friends 20 years ago, bowling and playing golf. Jim was such a nice guy. He was competitive but always a great sport. Carol, it was so clear that Jim loved and cared for everybody close to him. I know he was by your side through all the difficulties. His kindness and perseverance will forever be rewarded. My thoughts will always be with you.

I remember Mr. P most fondly from our several summer family vacations together, he was always smiling and in a great mood whether is was hanging out in a cottage on a lake, our families getting together for any ole occasion, or even getting a real bad sun burn from deep sea fishing in sea isle city. Many years have past since I was that young teenager. But memories do last forever. My sincerest condolences to the entire family.
