Jerry Martin Wright
1933 - 2024
APALACHIN - Jerry M. Wright, 91, of Apalachin, NY, passed peacefully on July 12, 2024.
He was born in Johnson City, NY in 1933 to Earnest and Bessie Wright. Jerry attended Maine Memorial School.
After a stint in the Army, he went into dairy farming, first in Homer, NY, then moving to a new farm in Sempronius, NY.
He retired from farming in 1995 where he and Carole moved to Apalachin, NY, and they travelled around the country on numerous trips. Jerry also had time to pursue building a model railroad, and flying R/C planes at the Aero Guidance Society.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Carole (Weyant) Wright, and brother, Allen Wright. Survived by his sister, Alicia; brothers: Eugene and Walter; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Andrew Passmore, son and daughter-in-law, David and Colleen Dewey-Wright; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life for Jerry will be held September 14, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM, at the Owego United Methodist Church, 261 Main Street, Owego, NY, 13827.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent the Aero Guidance Society, Endicott, NY, or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
