John Servais Obituary

AUBURN | John A. Servais, 50, the husband of Theresa Case Servais, of 1054 Maple Street, Genoa, N.Y., died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. Born in Miami Beach, Fla., John had lived most of his life in the Auburn area and was employed as a Vehicle Technician for the County of Cayuga. John was a former member of the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department and an avid fan of NASCAR and the Miami Dolphins. He was an outdoor sportsman and enjoyed golf, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling.

In addition to his wife, Theresa, John is survived by a daughter, Mary Margaret "Maggie" Servais; a stepdaughter, Nicole Guzalak and her husband, Timothy, of Auburn; his mother, Marjorie Servais, of Auburn; two brothers, Joseph N. Servais and his wife, Cynthia, of California, and Gerald B. Servais, of Auburn; a sister, Mary Morris and her husband, James, of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Gerald N. Servais.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial to be offered by the Rev. Richard Schatzel, at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in St. Francis Church, Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, in the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Road, Auburn.
