Joseph E. Fabrize

AUBURN - Joseph E. Fabrize, 92, the husband of the late Barbara (Perkins) Fabrize of Locust Street, Auburn, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 in his home. A native of Seneca Falls, Joseph was born October 8, 1929 the son of the late Joseph E. and Stella (DeChick) Fabrize.
He was a Korean War Veteran, having served honorably with the United States Army. Following being discharged, Joseph enjoyed a 31-year career as a Police Officer with the Auburn Police Department.
After retirement, he worked Security for many years at Auburn Memorial Hospital. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, a member of the Utopia Club and supported charities such as the March of Dimes, Easter Seals, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society, to name a few. Above all, Joseph could be found with a smile on his face, relishing the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by four daughters: Eileen Boehler of NC, Joanne Fabrize of Liverpool, Annette DelFavero (Tom) of Auburn and Laura Scranton of Weedsport; one son Edward Fabrize (Teresa) of Auburn; ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Julie, Jamie, AJ, Erica, Ryan, Christopher, Brienna and Zachary; many loving great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his late wife Barbara, Joseph is predeceased by his brother Angelo Grillo; and granddaughter Mallory.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours for Joseph will be conducted Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the White Chapel Funeral Home, Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.
Contributions may be made in memory of Joseph to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

We are so deeply sorry for the loss of your Dad, and Grandfather. I remember Joe from both the hospital and as a police officer. He always had a friendly greeting and a smile for whoever he met. Thank you Joe for helping to keep our city safe.
