Lorraine Kimak

Lorraine Kimak, 99, one month shy of her 100th birthday, formerly of Schwartz Towers and North Hoopes Ave., passed away August 22, 2025 at The Commons on St. Anthony. Born in Auburn, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Louise Pinckney Newert. She was a 1943 graduate of East High School and was employed with the former Dunn and McCarthy from 1943 to 1955. She retired in 1987 from CCC where she worked in the cafeteria for 17 years.

Lorraine was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. In later years she was also a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Jordan. Lorraine was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother , great grandmother and great great grandmother who will be missed dearly. She enjoyed her time living at Schwartz Towers and The Commons and cherished new relationships made as she played dominoes and bingo.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Michael) Foster; two sons, Daniel (Susan) Kimak and Martin Kimak; two sisters, Priscilla Feneck and Sharon DeNardo; four grandchildren, two great granddaughters; and two great great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Kimak; brothers, F. James Newert and Frederick Newert; sisters and spouses, Mary Lou (Stephen) Pudiak, Marzella (Richard) Smith, Sam Feneck and Joseph DeNardo; and a sister in law, Margaret Newert.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 28 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:45 AM at St. Alphonsus Church. Private family entombment will be in St Joseph's Mausoleum. The omission of flowers is requested and contributions in Lorraine's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Parkinson's Foundation.
