WEEDSPORT - Marianna C. Nelson, 93, of Weedsport, passed away March 23, 2019, at The Commons on St. Anthony.
Marianna was born in her family's home on O'Connor Road in Weedsport on April 22, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Anna C. Quinn O'Connor. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Weedsport. Marianna grew up on her family farm and enjoyed gardening and baking pies and breads. Everything in her home was made from scratch and came from her garden. She took pride in hard work and was very determined to achieve any goal she set for herself.
Marianna is survived by her daughters, Theresa (John) Frackelton, of Skaneateles, Anna C. Nelson, of Skaneateles, and Kelly J. (Timothy) Wheeler, of East Amherst; her son, Michael E. Nelson, of Weedsport; her grandchildren, Luke N. Wheeler, Alec Q. Wheeler, and Ian O. Frackelton; her sister, Elizabeth O'Connor, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Marianna was predeceased by her husband, William E. Nelson in 2001, and her siblings, Kathryn H. SanEmeterio, Thomas P. O'Connor, Joseph D. O'Connor, and James D. O'Connor.
A Mass of Christian celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in St. Joseph's Church, Weedsport. A calling hour will be held prior to Mass from 10 to 11 a.m. in church.
