Michael LaVarnway Obituary

AUBURN < Michael LaVarnway, 67, of 109 Wall St., Auburn, husband of Mildred Feneck LaVarnway, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at his home surrounded by his beautiful family. A native of Plattsburg, he had lived most of his life in Auburn. Michael retired from the National Guard after serving 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Elks BPOE Lodge No. 474. For 17 years, with his wife, Millie, he operated a delivery service for the Post Standard. Mike owned and operated the Tic-Toc Restaurant for 25 years. The son of the late Leo and Elizabeth Coligan LaVarnway, Michael is survived by a son, Michael and his wife, Pamela; a stepson, Gary Saville and his wife, Deborah; a daughter, Sharon Caruana and her husband, Phil; two brothers, Richard and Ron, all of Auburn; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Michael LaVarnway, and Jason and David Saville; a great-grandson, Nathan Stoelzel; several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to join the family for services at 11 a.m. Friday in the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Wesley Bogart officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1778 Clark Street Road Auburn.
