AUBURN - Minnie Vivenzio DeJoy, 98, of 151 Garrow Street Extension, Auburn, passed away peacefully at home, on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002.
She was born in Lattimer Mines, Pa., the daughter of the late James and Angelina Vivenzio, and lived in Auburn most of her life.
Minnie was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and a member of its Sacred Heart Society.
She enjoyed the countless hours spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by her loving family: three daughters, Joan Varner of Dryden, Jean DeJoy of Auburn and Ann Murphy and her husband George of Union Springs; two sons, Samuel DeJoy of Auburn and James DeJoy and his wife Maggie of Washington; two sisters, Helen Pisano of Auburn and Nora Cook and her husband Matthew of Auburn; two brothers, Peter Vivenzio and his wife Lucille of Georgia and Fred Vivenzio and his wife Nancy of Owasco; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was predeceased by her husband, Samuel, in 1976; and five brothers and two sisters.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, for Minnie's Mass of Christian Burial, with the Rev. Peter DeBellis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St, Auburn.
