Patricia Ann Galloway

December 15, 1948 - July 2, 2025

Born to Margaret Furey (nee Finch) and John Furey in Endwell, NY, Patty graduated from Maine-Endwell High School and received her associate degree from Broome Community College.

Lucky Patty was beloved by all – her family, employees, social clubs, and (especially!) her group of girlfriends. She dedicated her life to those around her and to her husband, Bill, with whom she managed Dutch Hollow Country Club for the last 24 years. She was also an active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Her unconditional love and laughter brought joy to us all.

Patty is preceded in death by her brothers, John and Dan Furey. She is survived by her husband, Bill Galloway; their younger son, Gordon Tracy Galloway; and his wife, Kristi, as well as their older son, Francis Xavier Galloway; his wife, Greer; and their three grandchildren: Rhys, Aidan, and Aoife.

To honor Patty's lifetime, the family asks for donations to be made to the Ancient Order of Hibernians Building Fund or to St. Ann's Catholic Church.

A Funeral Mass is planned for Patty on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, Auburn, NY. Everyone is encouraged to join the family and friends for a Celebration of Life immediately following the mass at Dutch Hollow Country Club.

Patty and I shared many adventures while I was at Broome and before I left the area. Many times I have thought of Patty and what a special and joyful person she is. I know she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Condolences and prayers for Bill and the family.

Working at DH meant working with Patty! No matter how many mistakes I made Patty had the good spirit to figure out how to correct them and to show me what to do to not make them again. (Which I usually did!) i know Bill and John and all at DH will miss here lovely patience and presence! Condolences and love to Bill and the family!!

I am so sad to know this beautiful lady is no longer with us. I worked with Patty on a professional level and I have so much respect for her as a trail blazer who was not afraid to take on challenges (ie keeping all the financial records at Dutch with little training but a lot of moxie). I admired her spirit and especially fell in love with the beautiful, kind hearted, down to earth person that she was. Patty has made Barry and I so welcome as fairly new members at Dutch.

Rarely in life does one have the opportunity to cross paths with someone like Patty Galloway, whose warmth, kindness, and exuberance lit up every room she ever walked into.
She will be sorely missed but long remembered by everyone who had the great, good fortune to have known her.
