AUBURN | Phyllis June Adams, 83, of 3 St. Anthony St., Auburn, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. Born in Syracuse on March 31, 1932, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Clarence and Viola Baker Johnston. She was a former employee of Auburn Memorial Hospital. Phyllis enjoyed playing bingo, scratch-off lottery tickets, and visiting with the residents of the Commons on St. Anthony. She was an inspiration to all with her helpful and caring ways, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Phyllis is survived by her devoted family, her children, Robert (Linda) Adams Jr., Charles "Chuck" Adams with Sandi, and Eileen Adams with Brian; her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Adams, Lisa Adams, Christopher Adams, Robert Adams III, Shezere Jones, and Candis Jones; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Strever; her special friend, Betty Staub, and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Robert Adams Sr., and her longtime companion, James Fitch.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the spring in Fleming Rural Cemetery.
