Richard Currier Obituary

Richard A. Currier Sr.

Richard Currier, 69, of Auburn, passed peacefully, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., after a fierce fight with heart disease.

Rick was born in Auburn to the late Lawrence and Anne Cartner Currier and was a life resident. He spent his entire career as a truck driver with The City of Auburn and retired in 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anne Lawler Currier; and their two children, Kelley A. Currier and Richard A. Currier, Jr.; five grandchildren, Richard A. Currier, III, Ryan Baratta, Cali Currier, Max Baratta and Laci Currier; two sisters, Elizabeth O'Brien of Buffalo and Patricia (Peter) Nanna; as well as a brother, Gerald Currier, both of Auburn. Also, many cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends.

Rick attended Auburn High School and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed anything outside - fishing, camping, gardening, but most of all spending time with family, especially the grandchildren who adored their "Pop". He will be truly missed by all.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 26th, from 3 to 6 p.m., at White Chapel Funeral Home 197 South St. Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Mary's Church, Auburn, N.Y. on Saturday, September 27th, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made The American Heart Association.
