Sandra L. "Sandy" Shields passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, while at home.

A lifelong resident of the Auburn, King Ferry area, she was the daughter of Ronald and Barbara Kent Shields. Sandy had recently received in December her 25-year employment plaque from EMCOM, in Auburn.

She loved spending time with her family, enjoying all the holidays, picnics in the shade and being together with her siblings. Sandy was a great cook and made the best spaghetti and meatballs. A fan of traditional country music, she loved George Jones and Luke Bryant.

Surviving are her son, Jeffrey Shields; grandchildren, Lily Shields, Nathan Choate, Allyana Coyle, Mason Shields. Siblings, Sally Entwistle (Bob) Locke, Pamela (Tony) DeTomaso, Auburn, Lisa Sampson Moravia, Ronald (Michelle) Shields, Jr., Genoa, Tammy Oliver, Auburn, Robert Shields, Genoa. Several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Stephen Shields.

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, calling hours will be held at Farrell's Funeral Service Inc., 84 South Street, Auburn, from 2 to 5 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow after calling hours, with Reverend Louis Vasile officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, King Ferry, N.Y.
