Sidney B. Gilmore Jr.

FLEMING < Sidney B. Gilmore Jr., 78, of Bluefield Road, Fleming, died Friday, June 22, 2007, in the home where he was born and raised. Mr. Gilmore was born Feb. 18, 1929, the son of the late Sidney B. Sr. and Edna White Gilmore. He was a 1946 graduate of Union Springs High School. Sidney was a lifelong farmer; he owned and operated the family farm on Bluefield Road. He was a member of the Fleming Federated Church, a member of the Cayuga Lodge No. 221 and was past secretary of the Fleming Fire Department No. 2. Sidney is survived by his family, his sons, Sidney B. Gilmore III and Robert D. Gilmore; his sister, Catherine (Paul) Palmer of Conn.; the mother of their children, Harriett Gilmore of Weedsport, and has seven grandchildren, Robert, Jodie, Brandon, Ryan, Justin, Taylor and Catherine. In addition to his parents, Sidney was predeceased by his very dear friend, Eleanor Gavurnik in July 2006. Family and friends are invited to attend his services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at White Chapel Funeral Home, Inc., 197 South St., Auburn, with the Rev. Marsha King, pastor of the Fleming Federated Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Private burial for the family will be at Fort Hill Cemetery.
