Thomas Cramp Obituary
February 10, 1945 - February 3, 2025
Thomas Edward Cramp, 79, of Owasco, left us peacefully and surrounded by family on February 3, 2025, in Wesley Chapel, Florida. A beloved father, partner, and grandparent, Tom will be remembered by his friends and family for his mischievous wit, his love of nature and the outdoors, and his insatiable curiosity for the world.
Tom grew up in Princeton, New Jersey as the youngest of five children. He attended the public schools there, then went to Solebury School in Newhope, PA, and graduated high school from Cornwall Academy in Great Barrington, MA.
Tom then traveled in Europe for a year before returning to New York City and enrolling in the Art Students League where he explored his love for photography and the arts. While living in the city he met his wife Virginia and they followed their dream of buying a farm. They settled in Owasco and the farm has been in production since 1973.
Tom enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid runner, tennis player, and golfer. He enjoyed nature walks on his farm and cycling along the country roads in Owasco and the suburban streets of Wesley Chapel. He had a passion for photography and a deep appreciation for literature and the arts.
He was a charitable giver to many causes but was especially dedicated to supporting underserved youth in the Mississippi Delta region through Save the Children. He was also a supporting member of The Sierra Club and other environmental groups.
Tom is survived by his son and daughter, Thomas Mason Cramp and Jessica Dollar, his five grandchildren, Mason, Tom, Alex, Lily, and Jack, his beloved partner of 38 years Linda Burghdurf, her sons Bret and Brian, and also two sisters, Joan and Mary.
Tom was predeceased by his mother and father, Muriel and Walter Cramp, his wife Virginia, and his brothers Barry Cramp and the Honorable David Cramp.
The family will have a private service and asks that donations be made to Save the Children in honor of Tom's legacy of generosity.

I am sorry for your loss and pray that you are finding peace and comfort thru family and friends during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of knowing Tom thru our Thursday golf league. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Tom.

As young kids in the neighborhood we asked Mr. Cramp for permission to hunt on his farm. He was more than gracious to grant us permission. A very nice man who gave me and my friends a lifetime of memories we will never forget. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I grew up above the farm in Owasco and babysat Tom and Virginia´s children when they were young. I have fond memories of young Tom, sitting and having long conversations until wee hours of the night until we´d hear the car pull in, knowing his parents were home. He´d run off to bed. I´d pretend to be sleeping. Tom would then take me home until the next time I was needed.
When the family first moved in, my dad was driving up the road towards our house. When he got home he said he almost ditched the car when the person getting the mail at the Cramp farm turned around... he thought with that long, beautiful ponytail it must be a woman but was greeted by an even longer thick beard! (My dad was old school!) How I laughed... I have fond memories of your family. I hope and pray your memories give you peace and comfort during your time of grief.
