Austin Gosch Obituary

Funeral services for Austin R. Gosch, 16, were held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church  in Glidden with Rev. Sue Thomas of the Lanesboro United Methodist Church in Lanesboro officiating.  Casket bearers were A.J. Rodriguez, Dylan Addison, Jared Ewoldt, Mitch O'Brien, Brandon Kramer, Matthew Pottroff, Andrew Malloy, and Lucas Smith-Petersen.  Honorary casket bearers will be Kenzie Addison, Hannah Streeter, Lily Streeter, Abbie Streeter, Travis Wolf, and the Glidden and Audubon football teams and coaches.  Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden.
Austin Ray Gosch, age 16, of Audubon, and formerly of the Lanesboro – Glidden area passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 due to injuries suffered in a farming accident.
Born on Nov. 21, 1997 in Des Moines, he was the son of Randall Gosch and Tabatha Kohnke.  He grew up in several Iowa communities and most recently completed the 10th grade in Audubon.  Austin was active in football, track, and wrestling.  He was also very involved in the school music program.  He enjoyed sports and spending time with his family and many, many good friends.
Austin is survived by his parents Randy Gosch of Audubon, and Tabatha Lindner her husband Robert Mahoney of Milford; his step-father Paul Linder of Albert City; his siblings: Jessica Gosch, Orion Lindner, Cole Gosch, Kaleb Lindner, Keaton Lindner, and Noah Lindner; his grandparents Steve and Jeanne Gosch of Lanesboro, and Doug Stevens of Sibley; his great-grandmothers: Susan Gosch of Lanesboro, and Kay O'Donnell of Des Moines; his aunts and uncles: Tim and Rachael Ball of Omaha, Neb., Tracy Kohnke of Rockwell City, Barry Kohnke and Jane Hansen of Carroll, and Randy Kohnke of Waukee; several great-aunts and uncles, and his cousins.
Austin was preceded in death by his grandmother Lori Vega and his great-grandparents: Raymond and Esther Peter, Roger Gosch, and Donna Kohnke.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. My heart dropped when I read he was 16, since I too have a 16 year old son. May God give you strength and lift you up during this most difficult time(Isaiah 57:15). Our hearts and prayers are with you.
