Funeral service for Sherrin Klacsan, 80, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at the Yellow Creek Old Brethren Church, 26354 CR 38, Goshen, Ind. Home ministry officiated. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
Sherrin Klacsan, 80, Constantine, Mich., died on Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at the home of her daughter's family that Sherrin shared with them for the last year of her life. She was born December 27, 1942, in Audubon, to Benjamin H. P. and Ollivene (Winther) Schmidt.
Surviving are her spouse, Lyle Klacsan of Bella Vista, Ark.; daughter Kelly (Douglas) Murphy of Constantine; grandchildren Ellen Murphy of Constantine, KiAnna (Stephen) Martin of Wausau, Wisc., Emy Murphy of Constantine, Caleb (Salome) Murphy of Jones, Mich., Josiah (Rosemary) Murphy of Constantine, Kara (Daniel) Martin of Birnamwood, Wisc., Samuel Murphy of Constantine, Isaac Murphy of Constantine, and Evelyn Murphy of Constantine; as well as 5 great-grandchildren – Clyde and Latisha Martin; and Carissa, Abrielle, and Nolan Murphy – all of whom Grandma Sherrin greatly enjoyed! Also, her older sister, Phyllis Lauridsen of Iowa and nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her older half-brother Duane Schmidt.
Sherrin worked for many years as the office manager of a CPA firm in Omaha, Neb., and had also been a secretary and bank teller during different times in her life. But more than that she was a great mom and grandma who loved her family deeply. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
