R.I.P. NeNe Queen. I remember all of the wonderful and crazy times you and my mom (Sonya Walker-Dearring 12.8.66/2.22.08) shared and it brings me to tears. Oh how she loved some Nita and made sure her family did too. Myself, lil Sonya, Nessa, Stuff, Ty n Van will never forget Ms NeNe Queen. She passed 1day after my ma n has been laid to rip on the same day as my mom...so no matter what Nita will never be forgotten. We love you and miss you already. To Chris and Family;
I was shocedk when Robert James called to tell me of Nita's passing. My mind immediately went back to our first meeting so many years go. Anita was just becoming a teenager (13) and she was always trying to find out what the "big girls" were up to during my daily vistis to your house. Most days were filled with conversations with her, Virgina and Mike...when he bothered to pay us girls any attention. Through the years we would touch bases and renew our friendship and bring each other up to date on the goings on in our lives. Our most recent conversation were held a year ago on Facebook. We would mostly chat in the wee hours of the morning. I had just gotten a report on Anita from Mr. Forest during the Thanksgiving holidays and vowed to get Robert to take me for a visit. But,because life puts things in your way...I never got to make my visit. I shall miss your sister but will hold fast to the many little moments we shared over the last thirty or more years. My thoughts and my prayers are with you and your
siblings as you all go through this very difficult period of grieving.

"To know Nita was to LOVE Nita!"

McQueen Family,
Although Ni' had her struggles with sickness and pain, I am still not grasping the fact that MY friend won't be calling, laughing with, requesting or needing me to bring her something. Now I have noone to fuss with Robert James with about whether she wanted Turnip greens or Green beans...
I will ALWAYS cherish the times we spent together sitting around the house, going out to eat, taking care of Ms. Ginny, sitting with Ms. Ginny, BEATING you in spades, going out, waiting for you to buy something new that we "both" liked so I could tell you "it didn't look good on you so you should give it to your friend...ME! lol...WE had some "good" times!!! Even our visits in North Augusta was good. You were the "only" person that could get me to come over at 6 in the morning after I just finished working 10 sometimes 12 hours and sit with you. (actually, sit for 20-25 minutes, sleep for one hour, SMILE)
I am soooo missing you, our friendship, our conversations, our laughs, our "late night" Zaxby runs, our "reading the paper shaking our heads" moments, sitting with you while you worked on programs for the church, your calling at WHATEVER time you felt like it, ( if you couldn't sleep for at least 10 minutes I "didn't" sleep..."Hey P?" What you doing? ~ME: Duhhh, sleep! ~NI: Ok, did you know...(smile, gotta love her)
"One thing I know for SURE, Me, Robert James, Alicia Thornton and Mr. Forrest will "keep" your name in circulation through our wonderful, memories and funny stories about YOU!
Rest In Peace MY FRIEND, It Is Finished, Job Well Done!
Blessings,
" P "
