LAKELAND, Ga. - Bob Sherod Murray, 67, of Lakeland, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 30, 1943 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Gilbert Murray and the late Tom Smith and Ora Murray Smith of Lakeland Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1968 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Aniston Alabama and the Shriners Temple. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Lowndes County Georgia. Survivors include: Wife, Barbara Pierce Murray, Lakeland, GA; 2 Daughters & Sons-In-Laws, Kellie & Trent Edmunds, Harlem, GA, Kristie & Scott Childers, Helena, AL; 3 Grandsons, Chase Wright, Harlem, GA, Luke Childers, Helena, AL, Jack Sherod Childers, Helena, AL; 5 Sisters -In Law, Jean Permenter, Statenville, GA, Virginia & Winson Ganas, Naylor, GA, Sharon & Freddy Ramsey, Valdosta, GA, Brenda & Howard Ray, Lakeland, GA, Sandra & Larry Luke, Lakeland, GA; Brother In Law, Roy & Liz Pierce, Blairsville, GA. Family will receive friends on Thursday February 18, 2010 from 6-8PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday February 19, 2010 at Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Lowndes County at 11:00AM with Rev.
