AUGUSTA, Ga. - Brenda Bailey Grimstead, 67, entered into rest Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at NHC Healthcare, North Augusta. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 20, 2014, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend Wayne Todd officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Brenda was a member of New Life Baptist Church. She loved people and had many great friends. She was Elvis Presley s biggest fan. She worked for the City of Augusta s Utility Department for 22 years. She was employed as a cashier for many years and later transferred over to their customer service section as a Customer Service Specialist. As an employee Brenda displayed dedication and hard work to her co-workers and customers daily. She never met a stranger, always willing to help whenever and wherever needed. Her family would like to offer special thanks to NHC Nursing Staff and to the Hospice for their great care and love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Martin and Myrtle James Bailey, her brother-in-law, Lawrence Anderson, and her sister-in-law and great friend, Betty Grimstead. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Bailey Anderson, of Augusta; her nieces, Beverly Gray (Tad), and Terry Simons (Marc); her nephews, Gary Anderson (Kim), and Clay Wilkes (Tracy); numerous great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews; and by her best friends, Katherine Smith and Pat Cave, both of Augusta. Active pallbearers will be Gary Anderson, Marc Simons, Al Hall, Timothy Gray, Keith Anderson, Ryan McCook, Tommy Slay, and Benny Kinsey. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the City of Augusta Waterworks and neighborhood friends. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
