My sympathy to the family. I'm from Rocky Mount, NC, and my father and Dr. Jasper Ellen were cousins. My mother's cousins, the Rountrees and Moyes, were close neighbors of Jasper's in Greenville, NC. I'm grateful to Charles Leath for putting me in touch with extended family. I regret we were not acquainted in earlier years.

My association with Bruce included several years at Great Southern in the mid-to-late 70's. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to his entire family during this time of mourning. May God's peace be with you.

I had the privilege of working with Bruce at Great Southern Paper Co.We traveled together internationally on business after he became President of GSP. There was no finer representation of the spirit, ethics, and character of our company than Bruce. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. They can justifiably take pride in the celebration of Bruce's life. He was indeed a fine man, a gentleman.
