Witkowski MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. David Michael Witkowski, 67, entered into rest on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Wednesday, November 16, 2106, at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Richard Nevard officiating. Intermnet will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Witkowski, a native of Bangor, Maine, was the son of the late Walter J. Witkowski and had been a resident of the Augusta area most of his life. He retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant as an Equipment Specialist from the U.S. Air Force. David enjoyed volunteering at Doctor's Hospital and visiting numerous nursing homes. David lived his life to praise, honor and worship his saviour Jesus Christ. He loved music and computers. He used his computer to make inspirational and scirptural prints which he sold to benefit his church, Cokesbury UMC. His neice and nehpew were his heart. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Cheri Witkowski. Survivors include his mother, Sylvia Johnston Witkowski; his sister and brother-in-law, Lilly and Mark Owens; and his beloved niece and nephew, Nathan Witkowski and Miranda Witkowski; as well as his caregiver who loved him as a brother, Donnie Shipley. Pallbearers will be, Wayne Gilliland, Herb Padgett, Butch Hentges, Brian Holliday, Jeff Badke and John Shipley. If desired, the family suggests memorials be made to the Southeastern Paralyzed Veterans of America, Inc., 4010 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA, 30815-5616, or to Cokesbury Unied Methodist Church, 2005 Windsor Spring Road, Augusta, GA, 30906.
