Edward Agner Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Edward D. Red Agner passed away peacefully Monday May 16, 2011. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church of Augusta, 629 Greene St, at 11:00 AM on May 26, 2011. Red is survived by his beloved wife Billie Connell Agner, whom he married in 1951, his loving daughter Pamela Dukes and husband David, granddaughter Blake Taylor and husband Nathan, grandson Zachary Dukes, great grandchildren Ella Reed and Rylan Taylor, brother Les Agner, brother-in-law Julian Connell and wife Faye, brother-in-law Donald Connell, nephews Mickey Agner, Larry Agner, Glen Agner, Jayson McMahan, along with their families, and many cherished friends. A kind and generous man, with a heart as big as his barreled chest, he never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him. He was the best Daddy and Granddaddy ever. As a member of the National Guard, Red was called to active duty during the Korean War. He spent his professional years with ABC Building Maintenance. The Augusta Elks Lodge #205 was one of his favorite pastimes. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Hospice c/o St Joseph Foundation PO Box 31358 Augusta, GA 30903. Billie Sue and Pamela. We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Red. I can remember all of the good times that you all had. I can still see him and Aunt Tiny (cutting a rug) He was surely a fine person who we know will be missed by many. Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
