Edwin Pollock Obituary
Mr. Pollock was born in 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Augusta. He founded Pollock Office Machine Company, (Pollock Company), in 1965. He believed in giving back to the community and helping others and associated himself with people from all walks of life. Mr. Pollock celebrated his 94th birthday the day before his death and called it the best birthday he ever had.
Family members include three daughters: Elinore Pollock Hollingsworth (Lionel), Kathy Pollock Inman, Laura Pollock; son: R. Joseph Pollock (Beth); 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Hollingsworth Murphy (Tom), Katie Hollingsworth Head (Donnie), Amy Pollock Harriman (Jason), Mark B. Pollock, Sara Pollock Searle (Nathan), Kathryn Pollock Braxton (Ben), Edwin B. Pollock, III (Jane), Lawson Inman (Courtney), Stacey Inman, Jessica Classens, Carolina Classens; 11 great grandchildren; and his close friend and neighbor: Margarette Miller.
A funeral Mass will be Monday, January 23, 2017, 12:00 Noon at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Ragan celebrant and Dr. Roger Murchison officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. in the church narthex. Pallbearers will be Steve Baxter, Jimmy Richards, Kent Burrow, Marvin Parris, Michael Sommers and Gaylon Scoates.

My condolences to Mr. Pollock's family and loved ones. I was fortunate to know Mr. Pollock for many years at St. Mary on the Hill. In his later years when he would attend the Sunday evening Mass, I often brought Holy Communion to him in his pew. I also occasionally had breakfast with him at the country restaurant on North Leg where the Wife Saver is now. It was a pleasure and an honor to know him.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Pollock was a wonderful man who was always kind to me and my children. I know he's at peace and with Mrs Pollock now. May God watch over you all and give you comfort.
