Harry Paulos Obituary
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Harry James Paulos, 94, beloved husband of the late Kathryn Ricketson Paulos, entered into rest on Monday, February 18, 2013 at University Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Ragan serving as celebrant. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Paulos was the son of the late James George and Avia Little Paulos. He was an avid football and baseball fan. He was a southern gentleman of the highest quality. Mr. Paulos had a nickname for everyone, and he really loved life and was incredibly thoughtful and kind to everyone. He was a second generation Greek. His family was his life especially his beloved wife of 70 years. He was a partner in Paulos and Sons Cleaners and Hatters, the first establishment of its kind in Augusta. His father, James George Paulos, and his brothers also operated the West Inn Grill on Broad Street. Mr. Paulos is survived by his children, Harry James Paulos, Jr and Rebeka Girton; his sister, Mary Collins and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Paulos was preceded in death by his brother, David Paulos. If so desired memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. A vigil for the deceased will be held at 5:45 PM on Wednesday evening, February 20, 2013 at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel. The family will receive friends following the vigil until 8:00 PM. Uncle Harry was my favorite Uncle. I never saw him when wasn't laughing about something. Slim will miss you even though she never saw you much. Now you and Daddy can have your Hummers together in heaven. Love and never forget you.

I REMEMBER AS A YOUNG DEPUTY MR. PAULOS WOULD LET US CHARGE OUR DRY CLEANING AND PAY HIM ONCE A MONTH, AS THAT WAS HOW WE WERE PAID IN THOSE DAYS. HE WAS ALWAYS REAL GENEROUS WITH HIS SMILES AND KIND WORDS. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ALL THAT LOVED HIM.

my father late Paul Smith did work for mr Paulos us kids helped as a kid Mr Paulos treated us great and would allways appraise us kids for working at yong ages and allways seemed excited to see us and was nice to every one that came into his store he is one the greatist men i ever new as a yong black kid he changed my life in so many ways i cant explain thank you and your familey Rest in peace Mr.Paulos
