Hollie McManus Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, March 1, 2016, Mr. Hollie Earl McManus, Sr., 68, husband of Amy Newton McManus. Mr. McManus is a native of Atlanta, but lived in the Augusta area for the last 40 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University. He was a devoted husband and father. Hollie was a proficient musician with a passion for stringed instruments. Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: Hollie E. McManus, Jr. and wife Kari and Andrew H. McManus and wife Brittany; grandson: Gavin Earl McManus; brother: Wiley McManus and wife Carol; sisters: Pat Cardwell and husband John and Susan Newsome and husband James. He is preceded in death by his parents: Wiley and Sue McManus. A memorial service will be Friday, March 4, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Littlekidsrock.org The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. I am so sorry for ya'lls loss. Have not seen Hollie in a long time but boy did he come to my thoughts a lot. The memories I have of him always brings a smile to my face. We sure had some good times a the car lot. He was a fine man. My prayers are with the entire family.
