Jane Sasser Obituary

SWAINSBORO, Ga.- Peebles- Curry-Durden Mortuary announces the death of Jane Megahee Sasser, age 66, of Swainsboro, on Thursday, April 1, 2004, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 3, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Blankenship officiating. Interment will be in Eastbrook Cemetery in Swainsboro. Pallbearers are William T. Sasser, Bryan D. Faulkner, David L. Beecher, Jr., Brandon D. Faulkner and J. Scott Megahee. Honorary escorts will are members of the Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Trail Blazers Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Mrs. Sasser was a native of Thomas County, Ga. She attended Florida State University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was owner of Plain Jane's Gift and Frame Shop. She was a member of the First Baptist Chu rch, the Fidelis and Trail Blazers Sunday School Classes and a former Youth Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Glad Garden Club and a former member of the Swainsboro Jaycettes. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert H. 'Bobby' Sasser Jr., of Swainsboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy S. and Bryan Faulkner of Jacksonville, Fla. and Sally S. and Dave Beecher of Statesboro; one son and daughter- in-law, Robert H. III and Daryn Sasser of Florence, S.C.; one brother, Jack L. Megahee of Thomasville, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Ansley Faulkner, Brandon Faulkner, Amy Faulkner, Elizabeth Sasser, Scott Sasser, Davis Beecher and Jonathan Beecher. Flowers appreciated but should friends desire contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Swainsboro First Baptist Church.
