AUGUSTA, Ga. - Jerry D. Samson, 71, husband of Sharon E. Samson, entered into rest Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Harold Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Samson, son of the late Bernie and Mabel Burgess Samson, was a native of Charleston, WV, but had lived in Augusta for the last 45 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps and retired as Plant Operator from General Chemical. He was an avid fisherman and loved his dog, Nina. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tammy Culbreth, of Augusta, and Robin Moore, of Ridge Springs, SC; one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren; and his long-time friend, Jean Clark, of Tyler, TX. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
