Big Jim, we will miss seeing you around town. It was a pleasure having known and competed against you as a coach. I coached because my son was involved. Jim coached because he loved the kids and the game.

Jim Siple was a big part of a lot of kids lives in Columbia County...he coached both of my boys in baseball and they were taught respect and good sportsmanship. They are better for having had him as their coach. We are very sorry for your loss!

Coach Jim was one of the finest men I have ever had the honor to meet and work with. He coached my son football and I coached the "Eagle" cheerleaders. He was an inspiration to my son but always had kind words for the little cheerleaders on the sidelines. He went beyond to teach his players about sportsmanship and about how to be good winners and loosers..on the field and off. Thank you Coach Jim!!! Angela O'Byrne

Nancy, Matt and Family... Jimmie was a great man and I cherished his friendship. He and I work at GIW together for all my 36 years and I can tell you he was loved by all. Your Matt and my Matt were born about the same time and Jimmie and I talked many hours about our Matts. He loved his wife, his son and especially those grands.. I will miss the "Big Man"... They don't make many like Big Jim. Such a gentle man with a heart bigger than himself. There are many young men in this area that are much better people today because of this man. I love you Matt and Nancy. Many have suffered a tremendous loss because he touched so many.

I only moved here 5 years ago, but I met the most inspiring coach our first season of baseball. Big Jim was a great coach and even though he never got to coach my son he always encouraged him to play hard at every sport he played and be his BEST. I will miss seeing him at the ballpark and on the field. May he rest in peace. A true coach and legend has gone on to a better place

There is now a great void in the football program in the Recreation Department. Big Jim was the epitome of what a coach should be! He took time with any child wanting to better themselves in football. We will truely miss Big Jim!!
