John Pritt Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mr. John (J.R.) Arthur Pritt, Jr., 34, of Milledgeville Road, Augusta, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 29, 2004. He was a very loving husband and father and loved family gatherings and cared deeply for his family and friends. He was a fundamental Baptist and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He was a very happy, full of life person. Mr. Pritt is survived by his wife, Melissa S. Pritt; one son, Bryson Pritt; and was eagerly anticipating the birth of his second child. He is also survived by his parents, John and Rosemarie Pritt of Hephzibah; two sisters, Joanni Brooks, Gloverville, S.C. and Jenni (Troy) Alderman of Augusta (He was their 'hero' brother.); and his grandparents, Herb and Nan Gardner of Charleston, W. Va. Mr. Pritt was employed with Lark Buildings of Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel in Hephzibah with Roger Wheeler offic iating. Burial will follow in Hephzibah-Vance Cemetery in Hephzibah. Pallbearers will be Ken Waites, Troy Alderman, Rouel McDonald, Rob Coddington, David Akerson, Alan Higginbothem. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 3, 2004 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Services entrusted to DeLoach- Kennedy Funeral Homes, Inc., 2546 Hwy. 88, Hephzibah, 592-5000. I wanted to come to the funeral and be with all of you, but another death related to my congregation prevented my coming. You have all been in my prayers ever since Jewel told me about Cheryl's email and I read it for myself. God bless and be with all of you. Remember the resurrection to eternal life that is the promise of God to all who know Jesus Christ, which J. R. did and does. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Hallelujah! I love you all.

Melissa, we don't know each other but we have been dealt the same hand.When I read about your husband my heart broke for you.I too lost my husband in an accident only four months ago,he was hit head on by an 18 wheeler , he died instantly of massive head and chest trauma. He was also very young(33 years). We had two children, the youngest had just turned 2 right before Steven died. In the blink of an eye I also became a young widow with two children. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I think that has been one of the most difficult things for me sometimes it doesn't matter how many friends and family are around I still feel so completely isolated. There aren't very many young women that have had to suffer the loss that we have. I can't offer much but I am here if you ever need someone to talk to that knows exactly where you are coming from.My phone number is listed. Once again I truly am so sorry for your loss.
