Judy, Nancy and family,

I was so sorry to return from visiting our son, Greg, in Colorado on Friday and receiving the e-mail message from Brenda Caldwell about the death of Jack. I have had you on my mind ever since I read the Virginia Tech article and the obituary in The Roanoke Times.

I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and how very sorry I am that Jack's life was cut so short.

I had the privilage of sitting with Captain Ridinger on our flight back from the ACC Championship game this December. He was a pleasure to be around, and represented Virginia Tech and the Virginia Tech Police Department with distinction. He will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear from my mother that she had read in the Roanoke Paper about Jack's death. Please accept my condolences. My heart aches for all of you.

Bob and I had the pleasure of visiting with Jack and Judy just 2yrs ago at my high school reunion. You both looked wonderful.

It reminded me of the time back in 1964 when Jack went caving with our MYF group and ended up in a minor car accident heading back from the river. He gashed his head and we had to take him to the emergency room for some treatment. He had a way of being with my brother Bob, and their other friends Kent Little and Bob Pack in getting into mischief.

The years turned him into such a strong and handsome man.

He did look so magnificent when he was on horseback at the VT football games.

I am just so sorry to be writing this note to you now.

Nancy, please know I am thinking or you. I am so sorry.

Judy, please know that you are in my heart and prayers. Please stay strong.

With my sympathy, Elizabeth Beamer Craig
