My family and I want to thank everyone for such kind words about my father. Some of you have shared stories about my dad that I never knew. I miss him tremendously, but I know he stayed as long as he could until God told Jesus to bring him back home. I feel that I will never get over his passing, although he's always told me that he will remain by my side forever through eternal life.
Words can't express how I feel about both my mother and father, but I can say they were the most caring people that I've ever known in my entire life. May God bless them both as they unite again. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

I was also a math student of Mr Baker and I remember him always being willing to go that extra mile for you if you were serious about your education. He was not a man of many words but I will never forget him. He was one-of-a-kind.

I remember Mr. Baker as a kind, caring and very humble man. He never raised his voice when there were times that he should have. May the family take comfort in knowing that Mr. Baker is with the Lord and that he has heard the words "Well Done my good and faithful servant".

Mr. Baker was my Math teacher at Laney High. I vividly remember him writing a Math problem on the blackboard and waited patiently leaning against his desk with him arms folded awaiting for one of his students to tackle the problem. I got the biggest kick approaching the blackboard to do just that. Sometimes the solution took up several sections of the blackboard. He would look at me, smile and applaude my efforts. That was fifty years ago. To this day, I still use my "God given calculator" with much success instead of the man made calculator. to solve numerical problems. That ability provides me with a greater ability to utilize the man made version. Thank you Lord for blessing me to have had an Educator such as Mr. Baker. Your family is blest to have had him in your lives. His student will never be the same. May you feel the safety of God's loving arms envelope you.

To know Mr. Baker was to love him.
He ALWAYS displayed a humble spirit, not arrogant, boastful, nor unapproachable. Mr. Baker carried me through many years of always saying I can do it. He & his wife were very instrumental in my thirst for knowledge. Charles and family take comfort that your dad is with your mom, safe in the Masters care.
I'm praying for you all.
