Recently, I phoned Mr. Williams and found comfort in talking to him after the passing of another colleague of ours from the Augusta Housing Authority. There were three of us on the phone, Mr. Williams, Sherran and I. We had a reunion over the phone and laughed infectiously at the always witty Mr. Williams. I, of course, told him that he was in charge of putting together a gathering for the former and current employees of the housing authority. He respectfully declined and we all laughed again. There are so many fawn memories of a man who lived a full, warm and wonderful life. It is true that Mr. Williams will forever be missed.
“I still have the gavel you gave me Mr. Williams where you inscribe my name and the year you retired~I will cherish it always.”

Hi Carolyn, it was good seeing you a couple of years ago at California Dream and hi to you Millicent, long time "no see" since Aquinas. May Father God provide you all the love, comfort, strength, and support to heal during this time. I know you all have beautiful memories of your father and keep those memories close. It sounds like your father truly was a trooper. Take care, Gilda Brathwaite, a dear friend of Deborah Washington Rose, classmates of '72'.

I'm truly saddened at the passing of Leroy, he was the best OVAP Chairman for my 7 years of Chapter Commander of Pendleton King, Chapter #10, When I was State Commander for the Disabled American Veterans I made him OVAP Chairman, because he cares about the homeless and others that need help. He will be a great loss to the State Department and Chapter. Our prayers go out to his entire family.

The news of the untimely death of Leroy Williams came as a great shock. Leroy was a valued client, a good friend, a trusted advisor and an exceptional community leader. It is difficult to find words that adequately express my regret over the passing of distinguished American veteran and I will miss him deeply. Ed Tarver, United States Attorney (Augusta)
