Lois Perkins Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Lois Slaydon Perkins, 98, of Kentwood Nursing Facility entered into rest December 14, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence W. Perkins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John F. Barnes officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, December 18, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery in Roanoke, Virginia. Mrs. Perkins was born in Roanoke, VA and was the daughter of the late John Jones Slaydon and the late Virgie Dean Minter Slaydon. She was retired owner and operator of We Do Specialty Finishing in Chicago, Illinois. After retiring she and her husband made their home in Miami and Rotunda West, Florida. Mrs. Perkins was very fond of animals and she will be missed for her kind and loving ways. Survivors include her son Irvin Lee Grant and his wife Beth of Clarks Hill, SC., sister Edna Adams of Roanoke, VA.; grandchildren, Mark Grant (Nancy), Dave Grant (Pam), Ann Barbare (Donnie), John Grant (Laurie), Glenn Grant, Stephanie Platt (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Kristen Grant, Elizabeth Grant, Caroline Grant , Katie Grant, Sarah Grant, Amy Grant, Jennifer Barbare, Michael Barbare, Atura Grant, Jaro n Grant, and Brenna Grant; great -great- grandchild, Dalton Grant Burnley. Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister: Paul Vernon Slaydon, Ralph W. Slaydon, Inez Creagan, Melvin Slaydon and John Earl Slaydon.
