Luther Franklin "Frank" Yount Jr.

EVANS, Ga. - Luther Franklin (Frank) Yount, Jr., was called to stand with the Lord on August 9, 2008. Frank, 82, beloved husband of 58 years to Cora Elizabeth Yount of Evans, Ga. was born in Marble Hill, Missouri in June of 1926. Family members in addition to his wife who are left to cherish his precious memories are three sons; Marc Bennett and his wife Jacquelyn Ruth Yount; Michael Harris and his wife Jean Sakayeda Yount; Matthew Phillip and his wife Patricia Carpenter Yount & two daughters Kimberly Yount Fender and her husband John Jefferson Fender, Kelly Yount Miller and her husband Jonathan Carlyn Miller. Frank's greatest joy was being grandfather "Poppie" to: Erin Akemi Yount, Jonathan Jefferson Fender, Jonathan Carlyn Miller, Jr. and his wife Heather Hyatt Miller, Jessica Elizabeth Yount, Timothy Ray Miller, Kaitlin Nicole Fender, Jacob Killian Yount, Phillip McHenry Yount, Kaylah Andress Miller, and Carlyn Andrew Miller. Two great grandchildren include Brinlee Haven Miller and Aiden Troy Miller. Additionally, Frank is survived by one brother, Robert Wayne Yount and many other family members and friends who are blessed to have known him. Confident in his faith & passion for Christ, Frank was a devoted member of Crossroads Fellowship. He served as deacon & elder and was a dedicated member of the choir. He also served as committee chair for their missions program for many years. Frank retired from the Army after twenty- three years of loyal service. Additionally, he worked for Procter and Gamble for 22 years. Upon retirement, he worked at his son's store for a number of years. A service in celebration of Frank's life will be held at Crossroads Fellowship, 3875 Wrightsboro Rd., Augusta, Ga. on August 15th at 6:00 pm. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. The family would like to thank Mae Tate, personal caregiver, the staff at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home and the staff of Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care during Frank's illness.
