Marcus Fountain Obituary

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Marcus Lamar Fountain, 76, of North Augusta, SC, died Friday, November 25, 2005 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Augusta. Mr. Fountain was born on May 21, 1929 in Gibson, GA to the late Linton Edgar and Alma Cooper Fountain. He served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II, and he was self-employed as a carpenter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Marshall Fountain, and his sister, Evelyn Johnson. He is survived by four sons, Glenn Fountain of North Augusta, SC, Ronnie Fountain and his wife, Lisa of Augusta, Jeffery Fountain and his wife, Dicie of North Augusta, and Donafyn Fountain and his wife, Theresa of North Augusta; five daughters, Connie White and her husband, Gary of Hephzibah, Debra Black and her husband, Willard of Hephzibah, Cynthia Fountain of North Augusta, Mevina Josey of Harlem, and Dawn Brown and her husband, Skip of Trenton, SC; two sisters, Betty Joe Murrayof Lexington, SC and Dera Bradford of Augusta. Nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Louisville Chapel on Sunday from 7-9. Graveside service will on Monday, November 28, 2005 at 3 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ricky Logue, Danny Wilkins, Brandon Fountain, David Irby and Skip Breech. I am sad to learn of Lamar's passing. Lamar was a big asset to me and a lot of other people trying to make a living remodeling homes. My condolences.
