Marino Pelosi Obituary

Mr. Marino Pelosi, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in West Lake on June 30, 2017. He was born on May 20, 1942 to Adeline Cerullo and Antonio Pelosi. He was a communicant of the Church of the Most Holy Trinity (Fr. Jacek Szuster, Pastor).

Marino is survived by his cherished wife, Mary Ann Goodwin Pelosi; his aunt Lucia Pelosi; uncle Filomeno Pelosi (Lucette Parente) all of Cerreto Sannita, Italy; brothers Tony Pelosi (Donna) and Marty Pelosi (Kelly), all of Connecticut; daughter Dyan Pelosi Johnson (Erik) and two grandchildren, Cody and Sadie Johnson of California; daughter-in-law Jeannie Gray of Key West, Florida; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews both in Cerreto Sannita, Italy and Connecticut. He was predeceased by the mother of his children, Elaine Fecchia Pelosi; his sister Mary Lou Pelosi; his toddler daughter Sheila; and his beloved son Tony.

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Marino graduated from Crosby High School in 1960; earned his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Lowell Technological Institute (now known as University of Massachusetts Lowell); and received an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He worked for Uniroyal, Inc. in Connecticut and Illinois, and De Laval in New York prior to his employment with Tranter, Inc. in Lansing, Michigan. Subsequently he transferred to Augusta, Georgia and Edgefield, South Carolina, serving as the Executive Vice President & Managing Director. Tranter, Inc. was purchased and eventually absorbed by Dover Corporation, New York.

Marino will be greatly missed by friends, colleagues and associates throughout the entire world.

Marino had a spectacular sense of humor, loved the game of golf, doted on his Jack Russell terriers and his cat George Hains, was an excellent gourmet chef (oh, what delicious eggplant parmesan!), had a passion for woodworking & carpentry, and especially enjoyed entertaining, socializing, and lifting a glass of Absolut with dear friends.

Mary Ann wishes to thank the medical community of Augusta; Marino benefitted greatly from the excellent care of his many physicians, nurses and therapists. She also wishes to thank Mrs. Wanda Attaway and Mr. Rusty Webster for their consistent and generous love and support during Marino's illness.

Service and interment will be held in Waterbury, CT. at a later date (arrangements by Elliott & Sons, Columbia Road, Martinez, Ga). If desired, Memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund for the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Augusta, Georgia. Please celebrate Marino's life with your own friends and families, and be sure to Live Life Large.

Mary Ann,

I am a fraternity brother of Marino's from the 1960's.

While we have ever met, I feel that we have.

I want you to know that my brothers and I are deeply saddened by Marino's passing and that we are grateful to you for the love, kindness, and care that you have given to Marino.

Just four weeks from today seven brothers will, once again, be gathering for a reunion in Maine. We will miss Marino and he will not be forgotten. I have carried with me for several years Marino's Bloody Mary recipe and the first thing we will do at this year's reunion is mix a batch and celebrate the life of a dear friend.

Take care of yourself and be strong.

In closing, one final thought: Marino will be remembered as one of a kind, the "really good" kind.

I have so many found memories of Marino. I would love to be an angel in heaven to witness Marino seeing my dad again. Marino is a great man. He even knew my husband was going to propose to me before I did. Give my dad a big hug from me and continue to share your "live life to the fullest'" attitude in heaven! Love you ❤

Mary Ann - Marino was an amazing guy and the best boss. Working 14+ yrs for him at Tranter was a privilege. The great memories of the Christmas parties at NA Country Club, the trip to see the Atlanta Braves, the surprise birthday party for him at Tranter's office - they will not be forgotten. He will be missed by many. I am praying peace, comfort, strength and for rest - for you and the rest of the family. RIP - Marino.
