Marjorie Bartlett Obituary

Retired-AT&T AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Marjorie Beall Bartlett, 86, entered into rest on February 8, 2011 at Trinity Hospital, wife of the late James Sewell Bartlett and the daughter of the late Louis F. and Catherine Beall. Mrs. Bartlett was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was retired from AT&T Telephone Co. with 41 years of service. She was past President of the Telephone Pioneers of America, past President of the Summerville Exchangette, past President of the Valley Park Garden Club, and member of the All Girls Tubman Reunion. Mrs. Bartlett was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. Family members include her daughter: Sylvia Orr and husband David; grandson, Larry Alexander, Jr. and wife Tina; great-grandson, Christopher Alexander (the love of her life). Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her brother Louis F. Beall, Jr. and his wife Evelyn H. Beall. Funeral services will be held today, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport and Rev. David Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lowell Bartlett, Wayne Morgan, Vernon Hargrove, Jerry O'Hara, Jerry Pardue, and Don Wilson. Memorial contributions may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, 119 Pleasant Home Road, Augusta, GA 30907 or Trinity Hospice: P.O. Box 31358, Augusta, GA. 30903. The family would like to thank Dee, Molly and Darry and all the staff of Trinity Hospice for all their love and care. I had the pleasure of having known Marjorie for a long time. She was a lovely person and a good friend to all who knew her. She was very active in the Pioneers and always willing to help when asked.
She will be missed.
